Description
Inky garnet in colour with blue flecks. A bouquet of blackcurrants, mulberries and glazed cherries, hints of cedar and cassis. A dense and coating palate, punctuated by coating tannin dripping in black berries and highlighted by violets and boysenberries. A subtle core of super-fine tannin provides balance to an otherwise powerful onslaught of graphite and red fruits, culminating in a persistent and bristling finish.
The fruit was harvested, and berries just split. After a cool 14-day ferment on skins with multiple, yet gentle daily pump overs, the wine was gently separated from the skins and transferred straight to French Oak barriques, 35% of which were new. The wine was matured for 10 months in oak, before being lightly fined, filtered and bottled.
