Last night in Sydney at the 2019 Wine Communicators of Australia Awards Jane Thomson, founder of The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society, was awarded the title of “Best Digital Wine Communicator.”

It’s the third time Jane has won this award, having first taken it out in 2013 and then again in 2016.

The award was largely given in recognition of Jane’s work in founding and running the Australian Women in Wine Awards. This year, the awards were held in New York as part of a partnership with Wine Australia, and were the launch event for a month long Australian wine campaign in the USA.

The Australian Women in Wine Awards (AWIWA) were founded by Jane in 2015 and continue to be the only awards program for women in wine in the world. The awards acknowledge and reward the work of women in the Australian wine community, and community leaders who champion equality and fairness for all sexes in the workplace.

“I am absolutely thrilled to receive this award and dedicate it to the amazing AWIWA Action Board of industry professionals who tirelessly give their time and effort to make these awards the success that they are. I couldn’t do it without them,” said Jane.

The Wine Communicator awards are an annual event that recognise those wine industry professionals involved in all forms of communications. Read the full list of winners here.
