10.30am for cooking demonstration followed by a ‘long table lunch’ of dishes prepared by the fabulous Poh and matched to a selection of amazing drops from Yalumba’s Wine Room.

The Cooking School and Long Table Luncheon is just one of the events being held at the Yalumba Harvest Market – April 2 & 3 –  a Barossa Vintage Festival icon event since 1995

It’s a bustling two-day picnic rug affair with market square of 40 odd Barossa food producers (the origin of the successful Barossa Farmers Market). It includes the cooking school and lunch, Museum Tasting with Robert Hill Smith and Louisa Rose, Hill-Smith Gallery exhibition, breakfast, face painting, kids art photography exhibition and cooking exercises. The Yalumba cooking school program has been part of Harvest Market since 1995, and over the years has hosted a ‘Who’s Who’ of food including – Serge Dansereau, Greg Doyle, Christine Manfield, Maggie Beer, Stephanie Alexander, Will Studd, Martin Boetz, Sean Moran, Bill Granger, Stefano de Pieri, Elizabeth Chong, and Tobie Puttock, all who have created dishes especially for the demonstrations using Barossa produce and matched to Yalumba’s wines, including Viognier, Vermentino, Riesling, Grenache, Tempranillo and the blend of Cabernet Shiraz.
