The night air was warm but inside the funky digs of new Sydney restaurant, Nomad, it was even hotter as 50 fabulous wine loving women of Sydney gathered on 13th March for our Fabulous Ladies Wine Soiree with De Bortoli wines.
The evening was hosted by Leanne De Bortoli herself, who travelled from the Yarra Valley to be with us and personally introduce us to eight of her favourite wines from the De Bortoli range.
Top level CEO’s and stay-at-home mums, grandmothers and hip young things all sat side by side at the huge dinner tables as we shared amazing wines over a delicious five course meal.
It’s the magnificent spread of ages and interests that makes these evenings so incredibly special. The one thing everyone in the room has in common is a love of wine! And that’s enough to get the decibel levels hitting the roof after the first hour, as conversation flows and new friends are quickly made.
“It’s my husband [winemaker Steve Webber] that usually gets to host wine dinners and they’re certainly nothing like this!” said Leanne to the happy crowd. “This is FABULOUS!”
Leanne, who runs the entire Yarra Valley vineyard and cellar door operations of De Bortoli, did a stellar job introducing us to the wines and sharing some of her own personal experiences of producing them.
