Sydney Fabulous Ladies Wine Soiree – February 28th, 2013

The rain may have been pouring down outside, but the temperature inside the Gazebo Wine Garden for our first Sydney Fabulous Ladies Wine Soiree last Thursday night was hot, Hot, HOT!!

Thank you to all the fabulous ladies (the room was packed!!) who joined us for an AMAZING evening. There was simply too much fun to be had!!!!

The evening started out with two different sparkling wines – a Vinaceous Blanc de Blanc NV & a Stocco Ribolla Gialla Brut from Italy – served up with freshly shucked oysters and nectarine granita in the private Rose Garden.

We were so privileged to have Sarah Limacher, Head Sommelier for the entire Keystone Group (who operate the Gazebo Wine Garden, and 13 other venues across Sydney) present at our event for the whole evening. She managed and served up all the wines, expertly ensuring everyone had the right vino at the right time. She was an absolute powerhouse of delight.

By the time we all sat down to dinner, the decibel level had already risen to new heights! Old friends caught up, and new friends were instantly made over a sip or two of bubbly. What we absolutely love about these evenings is that a wide range of women attend, right across the age spectrum, and by the end of the night everyone had met some amazing new people and felt the power of the sisterhood at work!

With chef extraordinaire Matthew Kemp in the kitchen, we knew the food was going to be absolutely outstanding. But our expectations were still superseded by the quality and flavour of dishes he and his staff plated up. Seriously. Jaw droppingly. Delicious.

Monsieur Kemp thrilled everyone by stepping out of the kitchen at the end of the meal to chat to us all! What a gentleman.

The wines from Vinaceous, and the Italian selection provided by Navilgi Wines, were all exquisite and there was much fun to be had voting for our favourite with each course. The dry Salome Tempranillo Rose from Vinaceous was a bit of a crowd favourite, as was the Italian sourced Mocavero Primitivo 2008. But all the wines poured that evening had everyone ooh-ing and aah-ing at every sip.
