Whether on your own, or in the company of friends, our monthly online wine club is a brilliant and easy way to discover and try new wines that we think are pretty darned fabulous. How does the online wine club work? Read this!

Why we love these wines

It’s not often we can say wines are ‘life changing’ but if the reaction we’ve seen to these two wines is anything to go on, then that pretty much sums it up. At all the events we’ve done with Emma Raidis, these are the two wines everyone goes CRAZY for. In fact, last year their entire production of the Pinot Gris sold out in less than 3 months!

Meanwhile, the Billy Cabernet is a hero in its own right that has brought more than a few people back to the joys of Coonawarra Cab. Everyone swoons over it’s gentle tannins, and mint-choc and bright berry flavours. Previous vintages of both these wines were previously featured as our wines of the month and fast became one of our most popular offers of all time! This is your chance to be one of the first in the world to get access to the current vintages before they sell out too.

Who are Raidis Estate?

Many of you have already met and fallen in love with Emma Raidis as she’s a true fab ladies favourite who has done many events with us all over Australia! But if you’re new to Raidis Estate, Emma and Steven Raidis are a fabulous young couple who believe in sustainability, love their region of Coonawarra and produce hand-made wines specifically to be shared with family and friends. As part of their sustainable approach to winemaking they keep a flock of goats which they let into their vineyards after harvest to clean it all up naturally – avoiding the need to use sprays and other nasties. Isn’t that just adorable?

Because the goats are so important to the process, they even name their wines after them. So this month we’ve got the Cheeky Goat and the Billy to sip on.

Raidis Estate 2017 Cheeky Goat Pinot Gris

Variety: Pinot Gris
Region: Coonawarra, SA
RRP: $24.00 as at 26/07/17

Like the best of Eurovision, this blushing apricot coloured Pinot Gris hits all the right notes yet proudly flies in the face of convention. Neither White nor Rosé it’s referred to as an orange wine thanks to the fact that the grey/bronze (‘Gris’) grape skins have been left in contact with the wine for several days during fermentation. It’s this skin contact that creates the colour as well as the textured mouthfeel. It’s bright, crisp and crunchy on the palate with lashings of pear and a little grapefruit. While the finish is dry, generous and little punchy. It walks a fine line between being delicately feminine and putting hairs on your chest. All the while exuding effortless style. Conchita Wurst eat your heart out.

The previous vintage sold out in less than 3 months, and this one is just as delicious. So be quick or miss out!

Raidis Estate 2014 Billy Cabernet Sauvignon

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Coonawarra, SA
RRP: $28.00 as at 26/07/17

Nearly everyone who has tasted this vino at one our Raidis Estate Fabulous Ladies Wine Soirees has gushed about it. How can a Coonawarra Cab Sav be so smooth? What’s with the choc-mint and rich berry flavours? How have I not discovered this before?! – these are just some of the comments we’ve overheard amongst groups of enthusiastic guests. While some of the more alternative red varietals are gaining in popularity these days, you don’t need to sport a hipster beard and sip this from a mason jar, because something this good will never go out of style. It has sex appeal galore and no excessive facial hair. Because James Bond was always clean-shaven. Get fancy by matching it to a slow braise or relax and slurp it with a cheese and ham toasty. Either way, it will shine.
