Oliver’s Taranga Vermentino 2014

Oliver’s Taranga Vermentino 2014

Vermentino may sound like some kind of Italian pest control but it is, in fact, a super delicious white grape variety that is making a very comfortable new home for itself in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. Oliver’s Taranga were one of the first produce it and this is their fourth vintage.

Imagine spreading out a blanket at one of the spectacular cliff top parks surrounding Sydney Harbour, the sun is shining and the salty lick of the sea is dancing through the air. That’s this wine. It’s salty, lemony, minerally and filled with laughter from happy, sun kissed cheeks.

It’s fresh, vibrant and fruity in a lemon, lime and melon kinda way, but with some good texture too. Think lime margarita and you’re nearly there. Umbrella and poolside banana chair optional.

Drink With

Seafood is the obvious choice, but it’s brilliant with anything eaten outside. Make it your picnic white this year.
