Alexia Roberts, that’s why! Penny’s Hill founders and owners, the gorgeous Tony and Susie Parkinson, have hit the jackpot with their winemaker Alexia who is one of McLaren Vale’s – and Australia’s – fabulous ladies of wine. The red wines only use premium estate grown fruit from Penny’s Hill’s own single vineyard sites in McLaren Vale. The whites are from “estates of mates” in the Adelaide Hills.
All fruit is tasted by Lexi out in the vineyard and picked specifically on flavour. She’s a very hands on winemaker, which probably explains just why these wines are so fabulous. The whole range she produces shows power, elegance and purity with great varietal expression.
