Why Are They So Fabulous?
It’s the vibe of the thing. There’s a biodynamic hum in the air and in the dark, rich soil.
Gemtree Wines and the Buttery family of McLaren Vale believe in natural order and balance. They know that farming is a generational responsibility and they are custodians of the land.
Their philisophy? “Only by looking after that most precious of resources – the environment – can we all hope to farm a better future.” Cheers to that!
Gemtree’s vineyards in McLaren Vale are certified organic and biodynamic – how’s that for walking the talk. These farming practices enable Gemtree to produce wines that express purity, intensity and a true sense of place.
At its very core, Gemtree Wines is authentic. They truly live, breath and believe in what they grow and make.
With a fabulous children’s playground, wetland eco-walk, friendly alpacas, and a large deck looking toward the ocean, it’s the perfect spot for family and friends to share wine and make memories.
Which Wines Should I Try?
Luna de Fresa Tempranillo (Rosé)
When this pretty little number is available, make sure to snap it up! Selling out quickly with each release, this is a beautifully dry rosé with a floral nose, strawberry and cream flavours and a gorgeous salmon hue.
Luna Temprana Tempranillo
The Temprana is a bright, fleshy, early drinking wine, similar to the Joven styles of Spain. Better yet – it’s entirely preservative-free!
Each year, winemaker Mike Brown strips off, is fully body painted and is photographed completely blended into a backdrop. That photograph adorns the label of the annual “The Phantom”. Always a rich, bold, heady and delicious red blend.
