Why is Angullong Fabulous
Dialling up the value is what Angullong is famous for, as well as being family owned and crafting stunning wines from the beautiful high altitude, cool climate wine region of Orange.
The Crossing Family have owned their land since 1950, but became first generation winemakers in 2003. This young attitude has seen them become justifiably famous for their Shiraz, but they’re also leading the way with alternative variety wines, like Sagrantino from the Umbria region of Italy.
Not a family to rest on their laurels, the trophy cabinet is filling up quickly with another recent trophy win for their Angullong ‘Fossil Hill’ Vermentino.
Which wines should you try
Take a walk on the minerally side with a crisp, Summer white: the 2015 Angullong ‘Fossil Hill’ Vermentino. With fresh seafood and the seaside you’re onto a real Trophy winner!
Sagrantino is the second-most tannic grape variety in the world. But don’t let that put you off! It’s a beguiling drop, with blue fruit on the nose, and a mouth-filling full palate. The 2015 Angullong ‘Fossil Hill’ Sagrantino is a winner on a cool night with robust ragu.
One of Orange’s favourite Sauvignon Blancs is the 2016 Angullong Sauvignon Blanc with it’s citrus and tropical fruit flavours making it the perfect match for lazy Sunday picnics.
New for summer is the 2016 Angullong ‘Fossil Hill’ Rosato which leaps out at you with it’s strawberries & cream aroma and refreshes you with its crisp, juicy finish. Try with a not-too-spicy Asian dish.
