Angove McLaren Vale Cellar Door and Vineyards

Great wines, relaxed tastings, gorgeous views, fantastic food

Why Are They So Fabulous?

Angove Family Winemakers is one of South Australia’s oldest family-owned and operated wine companies, established in 1886 by Dr William Thomas Angove.

Situated in the heart of McLaren Vale on the Fleurieu Peninsula, the family’s historic Warboys Vineyard on Chalk Hill Road is exceptionally positioned and farmed organically. The Angove McLaren Vale Cellar Door is nestled among the vines, and from the stunning terrace you are literally sitting in the middle of the vineyard with panoramic 180 degree views of McLaren Vale.

They offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to taste award winning McLaren Vale wines and sample local produce. The cellar door also offers single origin, free trade coffee and light food in a relaxed lounge setting with an open fire and air conditioning in those hotter months.

Open seven days a week for tasting and sales.

Which Wines Should I Try?

Wild Olive Rose

Pale pink with purple hues, this delightful McLaren Vale Rose has lifted strawberry, cream and raspberry aromas with hints of spice. The palate is refreshingly zesty with lovely bright fruits, complexity and great length.

Wild Olive Fiano

Lifted white peach, melons, spice and stone fruit aromas are accompanied by a textural, fruity palate, good length and perfect balance.

Family Crest Shiraz

Spice, pepper, red cherry and dark chocolate on the nose and palate are finished off with soft lingering tannins and a mouth-filling presence.

Warboys Vineyard Shiraz

Grapes are sourced from the 1948 Old Vine Shiraz on the organic and biodynamic Warboys Vineyard. The senses are tantalised with aromas of spice, chocolate, white pepper, and black fruits. On the palate the wine is restrained, yet rich intense fruit flavour abounds and are framed by great structure and silky tannins

The Medhyk Shiraz

Classic McLaren Vale aromas of blackberries, chocolate and liquorice are highlighted by subtle French oak characteristics. The palate reflects the delicious aromas, and is rich and full, with great structure and soft tannins.
