[alert-note] PLEASE NOTE: This wine was mistakenly advertised as our online wine club wine of the month for February. The correct wine is the Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2013 and you can find that here.[/alert-note]
If you’ve been well trained in the art of avoiding the tenner Riesling- particularly from the big brands – then it’s time to think again.
Regularly available for under $10 a bottle, the previous vintage of Jacob’s Creek Riesling took out the Trophy for ‘Best Riesling’ at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show (arguably Australia’s most prestigious wine show) against wines that were three and four times the price!
The 2013 is, in our humble opinion, just as grin worthy with crisp lime and citrussy goodness and more bounce than Kate Middleton’s hair. It’s blended from various vineyards throughout the South East, and the result is a Riesling that has all the floral aromas, elegance and romance we love about Riesling, without the talk back radio and violet hair of Nanna’s place. Drink with agadashi tofu or spicy Singapore noodles.
