Delatite is a small family run winery, specialising in cool climate wines (especially white aromatics) and is located near Mt Buller in North-east Victoria. Since 2002 they’ve followed Biodynamic practices across all areas of vineyard operations and also believe in minimalist winemaking.
The Lowdown
Hard to say, easy to drink – Gerwurztraminer is a challenge to the all senses and, consequently, wine snobs love it.
But we know they are secretly dreaming of scraping up some loose change and heading down to the corner store for a bag of mixed lollies.
This Gewurtz is filled with the heady aromas and flavours of rose, lychees and Turkish delight, as well as musk and violets.
What’s brilliantly disconcerting is that despite all the florals and confectionary, this wine is as soft and dry as a perfectly groomed ski run, with a lovely little bouncy finish.
Drink With
An amazing match for Thai green curry and other spicy Asian style food, or do as the Alsatians do and enjoy it with spicy snags and sauerkraut.
