We’ve seen the pics and the memes and we thought the idea of Champagne vending machines was all a pipe-dream.
Well, dream no more people as Australia’s first champagne vending machine started dispensing mini bottles of Moët & Chandon over the weekend!!!!
The Star Gold Coast’s (formerly Jupiter’s) Garden Kitchen & Bar was the first Australian venue chosen for the vending machine. The very first machine was launched at Selfridges in London in 2013, and has since been rolled out across the United States.
All we want to know is, what took them so long?!?!
The machine contains 495 mini bottles of Moët priced at $29 each. Champagne lovers are required to purchase a Moët gold token, which is then fed into the vending machine. The bubbly is then enjoyed through a gold sipper that sits on top of the bottle, turning it into a champagne flute, or used as a pourer to share between two glasses. (Share? WHAT?!)
Food and beverage manager Richard Gush told The Gold Coast Bulletin the machine will be a permanent fixture at the bar.
